app controlled spy rover

somebody needs to buy me this for christmas, although my dog is going to hate it, controlled by an iPhone or iPad app and working wirelessly over 100ft through walls, or 200ft without, you can drive this thing around whilst seeing what it see's on the screen of your idevice. can't think of any use I'd have for it other than fooling around but seems like a great waste of $149.99. The control app is a free download and runs on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch.

iphone 5 assistant sounds pretty incredible

Iphone 5 mockupwell the rumour mill has been going for what seems like an eternity with regards to new features and looks on the hopefully imminent iPhone 5. hopefully not too long to wait now as it would appear the phone will be announced on october the 4th and then released ten days later on the 14th. improvements are rumoured to include; assistant, 1GB of RAM, the dual-core A5 processor, nuance speech-to-text, and an 8 megapixel camera. looks wise it's going to have a rounder metal back, larger screen (although not larger phone).

easily the best part of this new assistant feature is its integration with something called wolfram alpha, an online computational knowledge system. you could essentially ask your phone facts or questions of all types and get an instant response. For example, you can ask your phone a currency conversion or ask how many meters are there in 46ft. I supposed you could ask for directions while driving too. pretty cool shit if you ask me.

Not quite what I expected from Parrot

Parrot AR DroneBut ace, it's a new remote control helicopter from Parrot (yes the car bluetooth people wtf?) Called the AR.Drone, it's a “quadricopter” that can be controlled and viewed with an IPhone through a WiFi connection.

What really sets this apart is that you can control it with your IPhone using the accelerometers which will sense which way you tip the phone and maneuver the AR.Drone accordingly. The quadricopter also has a couple of cameras on board, one for “seeing” what the AR.Drone sees real-time through the iPhone, but also another camera on the bottom which can track speed and help the ‘copter maintain a still flight.

As if that’s not enough Parrot has also released an open platform allowing developers to create augmented reality games through the iPhone for the AR.Drone. No details on pricing or release date yet but it's likely to be this year.

iphone clothes

Speck Fitted

Speck Fitted IPhone Case

Been meaning to pick one of these up for a while and finally shelled out for one. It's a hard shell with a fabric covered back. Got the Houndstooth one (bottom on the pic) and I have to say I'm impressed, this is properly stylin... not dropped the thing yet but I'm fairly sure it could take a fairly decent knock... best cover I've seen in ages, might have to get the other two designs now too... more over at www.speckproducts.com
